Weekend for the Wounded Warrior Project

BMA supports the Wounded Warrior ProjectThis November we are proud to be holding our first charity Weekend for the Wounded Warrior Project. On Saturday, November 22nd we will have a Tournament for Wounded Warrior Project. This tournament will be very similar to the many Tournaments of Champions we have held at the school in the past. But the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Wounded Warrior Project.

On Sunday, we will hold a kick-a-thon fund-raiser for The Wounded Warrior Project. All of our students are encouraged to pledge to kick for the event. All of our students can ask friends and families to donate for the charity fund-raiser. Registration forms for the events will be available to explain how each aspect of the fund raising event will work.

While there are many fine charities we could have held a fund-raiser for, we choose The Wounded Warrior Project. As many of you know, the school as a whole has felt the tumultuous feelings of having a loved one called to war. It has been over two years since Sensei James was called to service, and while we are grateful that he is doing well and now stationed at the Pentagon, many more have not been as fortunate. WWP is dedicated to helping those who have been severely wounded in their service. Below is the mission statement from the WWP website.

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors.

PURPOSE

·  To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women,

·  To help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and

·  To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

Core Values

·  FUN

·  INTEGRITY

·  LOYALTY

·  INNOVATION

·  SERVICE

If you wish to learn more about the WWP, please go to www.woundedwarriorproject.com where you will be able to read about what they do for those who have given so much. I hope you all take the chance to participate in this event. In the past our tournaments have been a lot of fun and a great experience for our students. This time we hope to make the whole event more meaningful.
